The Bronze Thumb Latch on Backplate is inspired by the traditional Norfolk latch, featuring a long rectangular backplate paired with a straight latch bar and simple thumb-operated handle. The clean lines and understated form make it a practical and versatile choice for ledge-and-braced doors, cottage-style interiors and utility rooms where a classic but unfussy latch is preferred. The generous plate length gives the latch a strong visual presence while helping to cover existing fixing marks on older doors.
Cast from solid bronze, the latch has a satisfying weight and smooth action suited to everyday use. Each finish offers its own character: Dark Bronze provides a warm, traditional depth that softens as it ages, while White Bronze introduces a lighter, cooler metallic tone with a gentle sheen. Supplied with slotted matching countersunk screws, the latch installs neatly and pairs naturally with other bronze door hardware for a consistent look throughout the home.
